Explore Other Mazes

Build Your Backrooms by Wind Sun Moon [WSM] is not a solo builder sandbox — explore mode sends you through other players’ yellow hallways while your own maze can keep earning in the background. The Roblox experience launched June 22, 2026, updated August 1, 2026, and already pulls around two million visits with roughly twelve thousand concurrent players at peak. Servers cap at six players, so explore sessions feel social without turning into chaos. This guide explains how visiting works, how to learn from layouts without copying them blindly, and how to balance farming explore rewards against time spent on your plot.

If you have not finished the tutorial maze yet, complete Getting Started first — you need basic build unlocks before explore payouts matter.

How explore and visit mode works

Wind Sun Moon [WSM] splits play into two loops on the same place (134363641369914, universe 10376944238):

  1. Build on your plot — Place hallways, monsters, and buildings; open to visitors.
  2. Explore other mazes — Queue into community plots, run routes, and sometimes earn visit rewards depending on current patch rules.

When you leave your plot, your monsters can still generate Offline Earnings if you log out afterward — explore time does not pause idle income. Check Updates Hub after patches because visit caps, streak bonuses, and explore cash multipliers change more often than monster stats.

Typical explore flow:

  • Open the explore or visit menu from the lobby UI.
  • Pick a public maze or accept a random queue assignment.
  • Spawn at the entrance and pathfind toward exits using the same movement described in Controls.
  • Finish the route or exit early; rewards may credit on completion or daily streak.

You are not griefing when you explore — the developer designed traffic both ways. Your catches fund How to Earn Cash when others visit you; their catches fund them when you visit them.

Learning layouts without copying

The best reason to explore is education, not plagiarism. Watch where you hesitate, where you backtrack, and where a monster tags you unexpectedly. Those moments reveal choke points worth copying as ideas, not tile-for-tile clones.

Take mental notes on:

  • Entrance pacing — Do they force an immediate turn or bait a straight sprint?
  • Dead-end ratio — How many false paths before a real exit?
  • Monster rhythm — Are catchers staggered after panic turns rather than stacked on one corner?
  • Visual tricks — Duplicate corridors, lighting shifts, or narrow choke segments.

Apply lessons on your plot using your own module count from How to Build a Maze. A copied maze with weak monsters still earns less than an original layout with smart How to Catch Players placement.

Spend fifteen to twenty minutes exploring between build sessions. Players who only build in isolation often repeat straight-hall mistakes that top plots solved weeks ago.

Explore etiquette and fair play

Explore mode is competitive but not combat. Good etiquette keeps the community healthy and your Roblox account safe:

  • Do not harass builders in chat because a maze felt hard — difficulty is the product.
  • Avoid exploiting glitches to skip monsters or clip through walls; patched exploits waste your time and risk moderation.
  • Give credit in your head, not in chat spam — no need to advertise that you copied someone’s fork idea.
  • Report truly broken mazes (instant soft-lock, inappropriate content) through Roblox reporting, not public drama.

If you join a friend’s server specifically to test their layout, ask before sprinting the route ten times in a row — they may want structured feedback.

Farming visit rewards vs. building time

Explore can pay daily streak cash, cosmetic progress, or event tokens depending on live toggles. Treat explore income as supplemental, not a replacement for owning a maze with monsters.

Time budgetSuggested split
30 min session20 min build / reinvest, 10 min explore
1 hr session40 min build, 15 min explore, 5 min Codes Hub check
Short daily loginClaim offline cash first, one explore run, one layout fix

If explore rewards feel weak after a patch, shift time back to hallway expansion and monster upgrades from Tier List rather than grinding visits that no longer scale.

Six-player servers and social explore

Each server holds up to six players. That is enough for one builder, two explorers testing a fresh layout, and friends running race timers without filling the instance.

Social explore tips:

  • Race a friend through a popular maze — compare paths and note where you diverged.
  • Take turns — one person explores while another rebuilds, then swap roles in the same server invite.
  • Use voice or party chat outside Roblox if in-game chat is too slow for coordinated testing.

When you invite friends to your maze, their sprint data is free QA for catch placement. See Multiplayer and Friends for invite flows and safety notes.

Connecting explore to your income loop

Visiting teaches; building pays. Link the two deliberately:

  1. Explore one high-traffic maze and sketch one choke idea.
  2. Rebuild a corner on your plot implementing that idea.
  3. Open to visitors and compare catch rate using tips from How to Catch Players.
  4. Reinvest explore streak cash into hallways before cosmetics — Cash Progress Tips lists spend order.

Monsters on your plot continue catching explore-queue visitors while you are online elsewhere in the same session only if the game keeps your plot published — confirm the visitor toggle after each major rebuild.

When explore is not worth it

Skip long explore grinds when:

  • Your maze is still a straight corridor — fix layout first via Getting Started checklist.
  • You have unspent cash and empty monster slots — income upgrades beat visit farming.
  • A patch note in Updates Hub nerfed explore payouts temporarily.

Return to explore once your home maze catches at least one visitor per casual run.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for maze builders and explorers.

Do I earn cash by exploring other mazes?

Visit and streak rewards can grant cash depending on current patch rules, but your own maze with monsters is the main long-term income. See How to Earn Cash for the full loop.

Can I explore while my maze earns offline?

Online explore does not stop you from publishing your plot, but true idle income starts after you log out. Read Offline Earnings for caps and collection timing.

How many players are in one server?

Up to six players per server. That limit covers friends testing your layout while others explore community mazes in the same instance.

Should I copy a maze I liked?

Copy routing ideas — forks, bait dead ends, choke spacing — not the entire plot. Pair stolen ideas with your monsters using How to Catch Players.
